I have a French Bulldog who has a questionable history. When I bought her she had a number of psychological problems, the main one being her inability to interact with other dogs.
This manifested in her being on high alert whenever another dog approached, she would scream uncontrollably, pulling to such an extent on her lead that her feet didn't touch the ground. Lee diagnosed a high anxiety state which he felt confident we could conquer. After 2 months of perseverance and putting into practise Lee's advice I now have a happy and well adjusted dog who can play with a pack of dogs and not be fearful. To know that she can go out with Lee and his pack for an hour of fun, running and playing gives me such joy. Without Lee's calm, confident and methodical approach I know my girl would never have realised her potential and she could have been one of the desperately sad statistics of dogs who have no future.

“Able Canines have almost become an extension of the family: Together Lee and Sarah helped to train our rather nervous yellow Lab, building her confidence up, and making her less wary of other dogs and other people. Lee is very professional and he seems possessed with endless patience. They used their own lovely dogs to help with the social interaction parts, and as a result we now have a much happier and far less nervous dog.
Lee has now become our ‘Dog Walker in Chief’, and there are times when we are not quite sure what we do without him! We trust him completely and our Labrador loves him. She gets a brilliant work out when she goes on an Able Canines adventure. They don’t just go for a gentle stroll around the park – weather permitting they head off to wilds of Hampshire and all the dogs get to have some proper exercise.
We also use Able Canines to look after our 2 year old Lab when we are away on holiday. The dog loves it and we are happy knowing that she is being properly cared for, by people that truly understand dogs. It’s good to know that she is being looked after in a real home, and not a draughty boarding kennel.”

"Dear Sarah & Lee
I know that Stan and Rosie can be a bit of a handful being as they are out and out Terriers. To Mich and me, therefore, feeling completely at ease with who looks after them when we are away is essential and in that regard Able Canines has always ticked all the boxes. Stan and Rosie are part of our family so when we have to leave them we must feel that they will be well cared for and happy. It is clear to us that Stan and Rosie are very happy when taken care of by you both and see yours as home from home.
Thank you both for the great service you provide and the continued reassurance that Stan and Rosie will be lovingly looked after when we cannot do so.”

"Sarah and Lee of Able canines are simply brilliant. Our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Hattie and Fudge always return to us relaxed and content following any overnight stay or day care – whatever the length of time.
Sarah and Lee are both knowledgeable and efficient even organising visits to the vet for pet passports when we could not be there. We often use them for day walks whilst we are working and this works faultlessly and like clockwork. We – and our hounds – would have no hesitation to recommend their services to others”

"My Wife and I first used Able Canines when seeking advice on lead training our Springer Spaniel Glen. Lee visited us three times at home giving us comprehensive advice and practical demonstrations not just on lead training but many other aspects we were confused or worried about. So impressed were we that when I started a new job and Glen required day care we went out of our way on a daily basis to drop him of with Lee at Able Canines. Some days he would be dropped off as early as 06.30 not then being collected until 12 hrs later at no extra charge. Each Day it was a struggle to get the dog back as he loved it there so much, often running up the stairs and refusing to budge. When we even mentioned Lee's name to our dog he would run straight to the front door and wine until he got in the car. I can happily say that we have not one complaint to say about the level and quality of care our dog received. He would visit Lee roughly 4 days a week over a period of 4 months until we moved to Scotland each time returning home totally shattered after a days fun. Would recommend Able Canines to anyone!”

“Mollie is my pride and joy and (for me) the best dog in the whole world. I worked from home and so she was with me every day. When work altered and I had to work away 3 days a week – panic!!!! Where could Mollie go? I did a lot of searching and research till I found the perfect place. Lee and Sarah at Able Canines were excellent. They looked after Mollie wonderfully and she had lots of fun going to them. I want to thank them for taking such good care of her and giving me the confidence to leave in their care. I would highly recommend them to any loving dog owners.”

"Freddie was only a puppy and we had already booked a holiday abroad so I was really nervous about leaving him so young and he likes to be around people. I found Able Canines and after a visit we happily booked Freddie in for boarding. Although we really missed Freddie it was obvious when we picked him up that he was well looked after and it gave us full confidence to book him in again knowing he will be well cared for. I also use Able Canines for the occasional dog walk and Freddie gets so excited when he sees Lee! I would recommend Able canines to anyone who would like peace of mind and good care for their dog!"

"I have been using Able Canines for almost a year now. They have been 100% reliable and have never let me or the dogs down. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for a dog walker or home boarding, the dogs love their daily walks with Lee and it gives me peace of mind that they are in safe hands. Lee is very friendly and it is obvious that he enjoys his job and loves dogs. I also recently got a puppy and Lee has been very accommodating and makes sure Taylor is fed. I get daily notes on how the dogs have been which is also great. It’s a great service and great people."

“We’ve been using Able Canines for a couple of years now – for dog walking, day care, and overnight stays for up to 10 days. We’ve been totally happy with their approach, their skills, and how they look after Louis, our ‘furry first born’. There aren’t many people we would trust to look after him and treat him well, especially on overnight and long stays – but we have complete confidence in Able Canines, reinforced by how much Louis likes them – he’s always pleased to see them and always happy to go with them.”

"Able Canines is a home from home for our doggies. Not only do they create a loving home for overnight sleepovers, they provide a great dog walking service. It is reassuring to know that Lee and Sarah look and care for each dog like one of their own. I have found Able Canines to be very flexible and accommodating to my doggies needs. You can’t put a price on your dog’s care and happiness, but Able Canines still take away added stress with making their service completely affordable. Not only do I use their services, my parents and grandparents do too (see pics attached). I highly recommend Able Canines and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else!"

"We have boarded our ex-racing greyhound, Alfie, with Able Canines: he loves going there. Being in a 'home', low-stress environment rather than kennels is a real plus, as is the opportunity for him to socialise with other dogs. It is also really helpful to know that we can ask Lee for advice."
